While I was writing my thesis I kept looking for postdoc positions in Canada. Then I found an advertisement from a lab that was similar to my Ph.D. work. I contacted the professor there and we had an interview n all that.
Then he offered me the position and based on that I applied for a closed Work permit for Canada only after finishing my PhD and getting the documents.
P.S. I did my PhD in experimental quantum physics from a reputed national Institute.

So you have a valid job offer and waiting on a closed work permit? You have PhD.

I had one and then came here on closed WP in 2020. Now my PR application is being processed. :)

I was also PhD, applied for Postdoc in CA, got closed work permit and landed here with family, after 1 yr of Postdoc (Canadian Experience) applied for PR under CEC, completed postdoc, got PR in 6 months, and now Citizenship application en-route. Apply as normally we find PhD positions, good luck! My 2 other PhD fellows did the same back then.

5 papers published and 2 are in process
Great. Contact HOD with a intro letter explaining all these publications along with journal description. Also mention sbout your thesis and your interest in the subject. Look for the researches going on and see if any one is relevant to your research and make a point how you can contribute to that particular research. Also you can try to approach a lecturer already a part of a particular research.
