Hello every one my name is Paola and I'm applying as a Federal Skilled worker to go to Canada but my application was denied my first time because low points. If I had a jib offer than my points will raise in total of 72 points which would make me automatically eligible for processing.

Starting by thanking everyone in advance for providing any information on my concerns as show one below, I will try to explain my main concern:

1-How do I find a Job as a cook which would be accepted by HRSDC preferably in Ontario, Toronto.

2-Is it possible to find a job as a cook where the owner whom will offer this job to me is willing to wait until the processing of my application and my arriving to Canada.

Thank you again

Paola

It seems impossible to find a job as a cook without any help from someone in CA especially when you live abroad, not to mention businesses might be looking to hire a cooks instantly.

Please advice me on what are my chances on getting this job by finding first a business that will interested on my profession as a cook and secondly the approval from HRSDC.
Thank you again

Paola

Hello,

It is very difficult to get job in Canada by living other country.

The best way to hire a good consultant to get the letter of arrange employment.

Approximately cost for Arrange Employment will be $10,000/- Ten thousand Canadian dollar. It is really expensive.

Beware of some fraud consultant and do not pay any advance payment for arrange employment letter.

Where are you from?

The only way you would be paying 10,000$ for an AEO is if it is a bought job offer. If HRSDC or even later immigration realize that the job offer is not genuine, it will not help you with your immigration and I am sure that the people who sold you the job offer will not honour any money back guarantees. Be careful.

In my opinion, it would be easier to get an LMO and a work permit to start with than to get an AEO. The reason is that even though LMO's are harder to get, the employer has a guarantee that the employee will come to work for him and that he will come a lot faster than via AEO and the skilled worker program. He also knows it is not so easy for the employee to leave if he changes his mind about the job because he would need a new LMO to get a new work permit. In comparison, with an AEO, he has no guarantee that the employee will come and work for him at all after he gets the PR and even if he does, he can quit any time.

Finding a cook job where the employer is willing to apply for an LMO to hire a foreigner and would get an LMO approved would mean that he's really desperate for skilled people which probably means that the job would not be in a prime location like Toronto but start looking and see what you can find. Anything is possible.

After getting in on a work permit and LMO, you can still apply under the skilled worker program if you have a letter of permanent job offer from your employer. Once you get the PR, you can move to Toronto or anywhere you like.

It isn't always easy to find a job because you are competing with a lot of other cooks. I know two French ladies who moved to Montreal. Both highly qualified chefs and both had to deal with unemployment at times. One was lucky to find a job as a chef but later the restaurant closed. She was then lucky to find a job teaching in a cooking school. The other was working in a call centre for a while and later found a job in a village in the north of Quebec.
