How can I do ECA for distant learning program

Dear All,

My wife has completed her LLB (Hons/Bachelors) under University of London International Program (distant learning course) degree from Bangladesh.

Since she is based in Bangladesh but the institution is based in London, how can I do ECA since there are some formalities, procedures like WES/ICAS forms need to sealed & signed by the university and sent to WES/ICAS. How can we facilitate and complete the whole process?

Can anyone please guide me on this? Has anyone done ECA for distant learning? Please help.

First of all please go to WES website (or any of the CIC authorized organizations http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/helpcentre/answer.asp?qnum=681&top=29) and see if they recognize your wifes' school and will accept the documents for assessment.

Once you have confirmed so, please ask your wife to contact her university and re-confirm if there is any particular department she needs to send the ECA request to. Also, whether they will charge to mail/courier documents to assessing organization and how you can arrange for the payment. If they do not have their own mailing service, then you can ask them whether you can arrange a courier collection from your end.

After you have both the above confirmed, go ahead and make a profile in your chosen assessment organization website. They will guide as how you should proceed, but mostly they all ask you to follow the steps as below:
- Send copies of your wifes' credentials to your chosen assessing organization (fax, email, courier as specified in the instruction from organization)
- Send copies of your wifes' credentials to her school/univ along with a covering letter stating reason for request and the documents which you wish to be sent to assessing organization.
