hello,
please explain in details how can a clergy (under work permit exempted with one year experience) apply for express entry and is LMIA relevant in his application for him to get 600 points? can he still apply for LMIA before apply?
his job is full time pay job and permanent.
thanks

The detailed instructions on how to apply under Express Entry are posted on the CIC web site. If you want additional help, you should hire an immigration lawyer or consultant.

You will have to take IELTS and score a minimum of 6 in each of the four categories before you can apply - you will also have to get your education formally assessed. Further detailed for both of these requirements are available on the CIC web site.

If you want the additional 600 points, your employer will have to obtain an approved LMIA. Expect this process to take 4-6 months if your employer hasn't obtained one already.

Hello as a clergy working with an open work permit for 2 years. I was paid from the church but no T4 etc. I was paid cash. Could I claim CRS points? NOTE that this position is LMIA exempt

You still have to file taxes and they are supposed to issue a T4. https://www.canada.ca/en/revenue-ag...dging/housing-utilities/clergy-residence.html

I'd say that you probably owe a third of whatever you have made to the Federal Government. This could be seen as quite a negative and you church should be audited. Claim whatever you please, but where's the Government's cut?

Regardless if the position was LMIA exempt or not , the church is required to issue you a T4, and deduct and remit all taxes .This is called the underground economy. You are then required to file a tax return with the Government. I’d ask the church have they registered for a payroll account with the government? Not only are you responsible for taxes owing , the church is now owing CPP/EI to the Government, plus possible interest and penalties, and possibly a Trust Exam aka Audit of the payroll
Why didn’t you ask the church why they were paying you in cash ? And why they never issued you a T4 ? Did they issue you possibly a T4A, for services rendered ? Those are supposed to be issued if you’ve made over $500 OR tax has been deducted .
Failure to receive a T4 does not absolve you of your responsibility to file and report all income
It’s the law
You’ve got bigger fish to fry if you’ve been working for cash and not reporting, then filing for Express Entry
