guys im sure there is a way. How can I work short term IT contracts (1-3 months) in America? I have received three offers so far. I have a USA visa B1/ B2.

I dont want to lose out on these opportunities.

Help me out guys.

You need to apply for a US work permit (probably a TN1). Having Canadian PR doesn't allow you to work in the US.

Only Canadian citizens are eligible for TN visas. Canadian PRs are not. http://travel.state.gov/content/visas/en/employment/nafta.html

You're absolutely right. In that case an H1-B is most likely required.

You are required to have a H1B or TN Visa (Canadian Citizens) / US Green card or Citizenship to "WORK" in USA. Not only that SSN is also required, which you may not be able to obtain unless you have a H1B / TN / GC / Citizenship.

Every employer would do an employment eligibility check before starting an employment, where you have to furnish the proof of one of the above things along with 2 other proofs such as SSN + other document with a photo ID to establish you identity.
