hi friends

i am new zealander and holding the working holiday program since this march, my partner will sponsor me to apply pr, i check the webiste, the sydney office is working for our new zealander's case. but i prefer to apply close canada.

1. do i need to apply inside or outside canada?my visa expire next march.
2. if my visa expire can i apply work permit to stay longer in canada?now i have found a job in toronto.
3. the police clearance record from new zealand can be sent to canada?because the form only has the sydney address.
4. do i need the finger print?

1. You can definitely apply through family class through the sydney office. Applying outland would be far quicker than an inland application. Only downside to this is if they required an interview you'd have to return home. Send plenty of proof of a genuine relationship and you most likely won't have one.

2. If you apply soon you maybe approved before it expires but yes you could apply for another work/holiday visa. If you couldn't repeat the work/holiday you could apply for another work permit but your employer would have to go through a process showing no other Canadians or PRs are available to do your position.

3. Not sure.

4. If New Zealand requires finger prints in order to issue the PC then yes.

Oh I forgot to mention you need to be married or have lived together continuously for one full year.

Since your WHV is probably valid for 1 year, you could also apply via Buffalo.

Get working on putting together your application and you most likely you'll be approved by next March.

With an outland application you can't apply for a work permit along with your application as you can with an inland one, its a seperate thing. With an inland app you will get a work permit but its taking about 10 months. In most cases you'd have your permanent residence far before you'd even get your work permit with an inland app.

No, what I meant is that if you didn't have PR by next March your employer would have to go through a process of getting a positive labor market opinion (advertise the position) in order for you to apply for a work permit to keep working there, not PR.

i ring the cic and got a email form them, from the letter for applicant, they say:
"To apply for permanent residence under the Spouse or common-law partner category, the sponsor must be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident. The applicant's (i.e. the sponsored person's) children can be included in the same application, whether they are inside or outside Canada.
This application must be sent to the Case Processing Centre (CPC) in Vegreville, Alberta."

for sponsor:
"To sponsor a spouse, common-law partner, conjugal partner or dependent child, you must send the Application to Sponsor a Member of the Family Class – Sponsorship of a Spouse, Common-law partner, Conjugal partner or Dependent child to the Case Processing Center (CPC) in Mississauga, Ontario. "

i understand that i send my application to vegreville and my partner send to mississauga, we apply seperately?am i right?

Inland PR applications are sent to Vegreville, Alberta.

All outland applications are sent to Mississuaga (both sponsroship and PR together) and then forwarded onto the visa office. In your case if you decided on Buffalo the whole application goes to Mississauga, your wife would be approved as the sponsor and then the file would be transferred to Buffalo. These is the route my bf went. He was on a work/holiday from Germany. Approved through Buffalo in under 5 months.

Review the above link.

Yes definitely if you can't provide the option C becuase you've been living abroad you can provide a written explantion about this and also include her IRD record form New Zealand as well. They just want to make sure she wasn't on welfare or social assistance.

hi kelkel, thanks for your detailed explaination for it.
one more question: where should i remark Buffalo" office in the application form? in IMM0888egen form? i saw there's one place write: Visa office requested for the process of your application, is it the correct place to write it down?

Thanks so much for your kind help
