1. Pretty difficult at first. To get a mortgage you will need a down payment, could be up to 20% of the cost of the property. Also the mortgage lender is probably wanting to see at least that you have a steady job and can afford the mortgage payments.

There are some child benefits available. http://www.cra-arc.gc.ca/benefits/
How much you will get totally depends on your income.

Lol no that's not true. You have to care for your own child, and buy your own diapers and cereal. The government won't buy you anything.
Maybe there are some local social assistance programs depending on your city for these kinds of items if you have very low income.
