Hi,

I want to know , how you guys deal with residence ? ... do you book it before you arrive or once you arrive their you choose the residence . I want to know how to book residence ... as I am looking for 1 bedroom furnished basement apartment. Can some body tell me the process for booking residence in Toronto , Scarborough .

1. Go to http://www.kijiji.ca

2. Select Ontario as your Province and then select Toronto and then the name of your place(Scarborough) under which region it falls. Then click on the Go button.

3. Then under the "real estate" section you'll find information about various rentals.

Just to alert you guys.
From whatever small scale research I have done so far, a genuine person (owner or agent) should not be asking you to wire transfer the deposit or any kind of advance via Western Union Money Transfer or Money Gram. If he asks you to do so, then he likely a scammer! Lots of people lose money to these fake agents because of this! The right way to is to hand over the cash in person!

Vacancy rate in Greater Toronto Area (GTA) is very low. I cousin found a basement apartment after 2 months. So I would suggest you start your search even before landing.

Are you specifically looking for basement or apartment will work for you? And what's your budget?
