Hello Everyone, Is it absolutely necessary to mention hours / week in the reference letter? In Indian companies they only mention "working full-time" and not the total hours.

Also, I have worked 5 jobs. For 3 of them I have arranged the reference letter, however, for the other 2 i couldn't get any. Is it necessary or can I just upload the offer letter & relieving letter for those 2?

Thanks.

1. Mentioning "full-time" should be enough. Additionally provide pay stubs and tax forms, if you can.
2. If you have more than 3 years of exp in the jobs you mentioned, then you don't have to mention the remaining in work history. Mention those work experiences only in the personal history.

You could request HR to mention your hours per week as per your official job timings. Most companies have an official timing even though they allow employees to use that to their flexibility as long as the work gets done.

thanks for your input. appreciate it.

regarding point 1, they have mentioned full time, however, for job duties it just says "network engineer working in xyz domain". is this alright as their policy is to not provide any other letter or format. even the manager cannot provide a reference in a letterhead. needs to come from the HR. can you please suggest what can be done?

it's against company policy. they have mentioned "full time" and only stated "network engg working in xyz domain" in job duties. thats it. i have done everything possible but they have made it clear by mail that they cannot change the format.

That's bad on the company's part. "network engineer working in xyz domain" is not a job duty. CIC needs atleast 4 to 5 clear job responsibilities matching the NOC duties.

have the mail communication where they say they cannot provide the letter in any other format. can i share the same? also, if i get my manager to sign my duties (no letterhead) and provide his business card, will it work?

I haven't come across a case like this and I am not sure whether it would be enough. But, if that's all you could do from your side, give it a try.

Hey do you have other work experiences that covers up to 3 years in total? If it is 3 years, then you don't have to even mention this experience in the work history.

He does if it has impact on his eligibility (six selection factors) under the FSW program.

He can surely check on that before removing it from the work history. I am telling him, he has this option as well.

yes i do. got 6.5yrs exp in total. out of that 3yrs i can declare as per the NOC requirement. thinking whether i should include this other one just for work exp and not NOC. what do you suggest?

If you have 3 yrs of work experience for the NOC you are applying for, then just remove this experience from work history and put it in the personal history. Before doing that check you six selection factors points as well. If you are getting more than 67 points in that, then the experience does not add any value to you.
