Yesterday I had to go to this agency to finalise my papers (Step 2) and get this very elusive OEC receipt from POEA. I, had my number taken from the guard downstairs (#20) . Around 8:15am all of my papers for step 2 are collected at window 9 so I assume that this will be over before 9am since the next step is payment of P6,383 and they will issue the OEC.
9am have passed so I asked the lady from window 9 why is it taking that long since they already told me that all the papers are ok. The reason for the delay is that their officer-in-charge, Liwanag Simondac, is on a seminar and the papers for step 2 haven't been signed yet buy this lady. I waited for another hour and still no people were called for the payment from step2. I asked them again why can't this Liwanag Simundac signed the paper while attending the seminar, the lady then told me that the seminar is being held at Intramuros.
I got a bit irritated thinking that this Simundac didn't even appointed a replacement for her to signed these papers from step 2. What they did is all the documnets collected, those who people from #1 to #30 were sent to Intramuros to have it signed. It's almost 3pm that the folders were returned and they started calling our names. people who got nos. #31 and above were told to come back the next day. Of course a lot of these people aren't happy but they cannot complain fearing that their papers might get lost in the process again.
To Liwanag Simundac from the Name Hire Division of POEA, you make us Filipino workers looked like fools yesterday and not the so called "Heroes" of this country. Makes me feel again the need to leave this country. Too
