I think it is a good sign, at least you know they are working on your file.summersunsunfan said:HI JYC,
I submitted the 5 photos in the first place last November. I will submit the new photos (50mmx70mm) on Monday. My husband sent me a pdf IMM 3999 E (01-2010) which includes the latest photo instruction... Not sure where he found it...
For the photos...JYC said:I think it is a good sign, at least you know they are working on your file.

I want to be proactive too but I don't think it will work. I have not received that email and my timeline is similar to summersunsunfan, ie HKVO probably hasn't started my case yet.cheng9999 said:For the photos...
I heard someone was asked to submit new photos, and wanting to be proactive, we did ours again and I sent to HKVO to avoid delays. I am quite sure the photos were not received yet, and COPR was sent out already.
The COPR has 2 copies, one with a photo on it, and the other without photo. The photo was still the old photo so the VO used the smaller sized photos.
We were asked to take 2 new photos with the new sizes...but no instructions if they were to be sent or not. I am assuming from other posts that these 2 photos are needed when landing, and they would be used for the PR card. I sent case-specific inquiry to ask what to do with these 2 photos, but no answer yet. In any case, HKVO has the new size photos from us, and I got 2 more photos made up at the photographer since he gave us the digital file.
I don't know if it's useful...I would keep a few of these new size photos while landing, just in case they are needed.
At least you know they will ask for new photos, which means you are near the end of the process.JYC said:I want to be proactive too but I don't think it will work. I have not received that email and my timeline is similar to summersunsunfan, ie HKVO probably hasn't started my case yet.
Lucas, just a reminder. You can order GCMS notes specifically for your sponsorship part. If that's what you did, then you can ignore this suggestion. If you ordered the "Immigration File: Permanent Residence", then there may yet be more information which you can get hold of.lucaskclai said:Hi

I never did that, so I don't have any experience what would be inside those notes. There is some information about the sponsorship itself in the GCMS notes for the "Permanent Residence", but it may well not have the details you need. The sponsorship notes may have a lot more information, including why you are stuck if what CIC person on the phone told you was true, that SA has not been granted yet.
You just get e-cas update for this. No email until they want something from you. The longest period of waiting just started.janicebunny said:I checked my applications status today, it changed to
1. xxxx
2. We started processing xxx's application on April 5, 2016.
Does that mean HKVO has started processing my case on that day? I received AOR and SA, but since then I did not receive any emails from my consultant, is it normal that HKVO may not send emails about this change?
oh I see... hope it won't take that long "fingers crossed"smoothsailing said:You just get e-cas update for this. No email until they want something from you. The longest period of waiting just started.
