Awesome news, mobeyk! You are nearly finished...super fast!

I hope we hear something this coming week. They started processing my wife's app on August 30. Same timeline as you, so hopefully it will be similar to the AOR (you received it shorty before we did...).

Was it sent via e-mail or snail mail? What does e-cas say?

FS
It came by snail mail. Sent August 29th, arrived at my wifes home on 4th. opened by her on 8th. They require her Hukou from her Birthplace, i guess to prove that she is originally from Shanxi. The letter asks for her original passport and it says all should be handed in 45 days from date of letter, which is Aug 29th. It further says that visa issuance will take 20 work days after they receive the documents. It will be super tight for us as her medical expires Nov. 15th. If i calculate all dates she will receive the passport with visa around 5th of November earliest. Depending on postal service she might just have one week to land, so i hope they allow for a extension of her medicals as described a few times in this forum with other cases. It looks like she will be here so much sooner as expected. It is obvious that they look through all documents once received from Canada and sort easy cases out. It is obvious too that they fast track people who are originally not from Guangdong or Fujian, etc. My wife changed her Hukou 2 years ago to Guangdong as she worked there for the past 9 years. It is obvious too that our application was with no mistakes and that our proof of relationship was sufficient. The Hokou request from her birthplace might be used to fast track background check. She is travelling now to her hometown to get the document. Unfortunatelly there is a one week holiday beginning October there so we will need to react super fast and she leaves this week to get the document and visit her family after this good news.
I am very positive now about HK processing methods and think that all strong cases will be processed faster, so you should be in line next FS as your case is solid too.I checked ecas and it changed to in process for my wife. Nothing new obviously as ecas seems to be updated after they send stuff out. So visa through HK is possible within 8-9 month after application has been sent to Missisauga. But we will stay focused and not let excitement carry us away as i believe only in the visa in her passport once she has it in her hand and who knows if the suggested timelines are kept. No matter how, reacting fast is key and such serious life changing issue keeps us moving.
Good luck to all others and have more faith. All waiting has an end with a decision and we move on to next steps.

If you look in e-cas, when does it say they started processing your wife's application?

Is your wife in Guangzhou? I guess they will send the letter this coming week...I just hope it doesn't take too long to get it. What colour was the envelope they sent the letter in? Just thought I'd ask so I can tell my mother-in-law what to look for when she checks the mailbox.

Hope you guys get that hukou document and everything goes very quickly. Not sure about extending the medical...that's something I would be asking the visa office about. From my understanding, they will only extend it if that's the only thing holding up the visa...

Good luck to all!!! FAST FAST FAST!!! Come on HK!

Her application was marked as in process for Aug. 29th. She is in Zhuhai just across from Macau. It was in a normal brown colored envelope. I think they will extend her medical as it will be expiring just within the time of visa issuance and it would be all that would stay in our way. So we are hopeful they will extend it and with that give us more time for landing flexibility, although i rather have her land immediately and she can go back later for wrapping things up and family visit around spring festival. You will hear soon from HK Fencesitter, your status has changed on ecas and that is a good sign.

I really hope we hear something this week. Yesterday was a very stressful day full of worries about our timeline. I am so scared they will delay my wife's passport request because I am not currently living in Canada. I think I supplied them with enough proof of my intention to return home, but who knows what the visa officer is thinking.

If they sent a letter in the mail, I wonder how long it would take to arrive in Guangzhou? Perhaps they sent a letter last week and it has yet to arrive? Folks on my wife's QQ group said that if the AOR was sent via e-mail, the passport request is usually sent the same way...but then your case shows that that is not always true.

Very anxious...had a hard time sleeping last night. I just want confirmation on the ppr and visa so we can relax and focus on our relocation plans.

My wife's birthday is on September 13, so hopefully we hear before or on that date...I know it would really lift our spirits!!

Dear all

I would want to know how did you check your stauts?
I sponser my husband, we have 2 UCI # and 1 application # FS.
But I only can check with my UCI # with my surname, and can't check with my husband UCI # and our application #.
Did all of you also same as me , or will check with application # when it change to "in process" ?

I can do it both ways. I can use my UCI with my name and DOB or I can use my wife's UCI and her information. I've been using hers mostly...I was able to use e-cas shortly after receiving sponsorship approval...no problems accessing e-cas...

That was what we thought, so, we keep looking at emails, but in actual fact, we have not received anything important really from the email. In our case, it was all through actual mail. On second thought, did you receive anything thought actual mail?

Everything has been sent via e-mail (my sponsorship approval and my wife's AOR from HK). I have sent a couple of enquiries and they have always replied very quickly (again, via e-mail).

I'm extremely anxious now. I am not at all concerned about the visa officer doubting our relationship. The concern is the proof of intention to return to Canada. I originally submitted the following:

1. Job offer from a Canadian employer (signed, dated, stamped).
2. E-mail correspondence with mortgage specialists and realtors.
3. Letter from my parents stating we can stay with them until we sort out our housing.
4. Letters from family and friends stating they know of our plans to relocate to Canada.
5. 4.5 page detailed account of all the things we need to do to relocate from China to Canada.

Since submitting the original application package I have put together another package with more evidence for my intention to return to Canada. It includes the following:

1. Signed pet relocation contract with paid deposit.
2. Quotations for our airfare and shipping.
3. Exit permit for our son.
4. More detailed plans for my wife's employment in Canada.
5. Detailed relocation budget covering everything (flights, pet relocation, furniture, car, cell phones, etc.. etc..).
6. Lease extension addendum allowing us to stay on a month-by-month basis until the visa is issued.

I was going to send the updated package, but now I think it's better to wait because I don't want any delays. If they really don't beleive me, I can send them the package straight away. The updated package HAS TO satisfy them...I have nothing else to show!

I know I am a worrier...but seriously, I am so concerned that the visa officer will doubt my intention to go home. I made it very clear in the original application that this is for our son and for a better future...the waiting is really killing me...I know e-cas shows 'in process'...but still...

So difficult!

Honestly, I have nothing even close to what you have submitted. I just wrote them a letter telling them it's not so feasible to rent/buy an apartment/house before we have a timeline. I just gave them the address where I was going to reside when we do have the application approved. And I told them, basically, no employer in their right mind is going to hire an employee on the possibility that they might go work for them sometime in the future dependent on the Canadian Government, again without a timeline. That's basically what I wrote them. Nicely, of course! ;D

So I think you're fine. You just have to grind it out.

I've contacted my future employer and he has yet to receive a call from CIC confirming the job offer. He is a professional engineer licensed with the province of Ontario. The employment letter was stamped with his P Eng stamp showing his license number. I am wondering if they will simply trust that the offer is valid seeing as he is a licensed P Eng? If the visa officer is questioning my intention to return to Canada, surely he/she would contact my future employer, no?

E-cas still shows 'in process' and we have not received anything from the VO. No news is good news, but does that apply in this situation...I don't know?

By the time this process is over I won't have any hair left...or if I do, it will all be grey!

FS, concentrate on good things. I never thought of bad things and things they might think or do. Be more confident of what you gave them and what documents you supplied. One can say I have been always a bit too optimistic but I experienced that worry does not do any good and just stresses you. You will get your answer soon. Maybe the difference is that my wife is originally from a province outside of Guangdong, Fujian , etc. that are handled by Hong Kong. Her family all live in Shanxi. They will check people deeper that come from the southern provinces. Think positive and all will be good. It worked for your sponsorship approval.

You're right, mobeyk, but it's quite difficult to concentrate on anything else when a total stranger is in the position to decide the future of my family's life. It's also very hard to stay positive when I have no clear idea what is happening with my case. Yes, I could order GCMS notes, but that takes more time.

The only thing I can think of is the immigration process. I appreciate your comment, and I am trying to do everything I can to keep my mind off things, but it's nearly impossible.

I am itching to send another case specific enquiry, but then they might delay things out of spite...

The waiting is getting to me...but hopefully I'll feel better in the next few days...

I understand you fully. Your families future is in your own hands and the VO just decides if you have taken the right steps according to set standards by Canada. I believe that you have done so by supplying all documents you mentioned. Waiting is always difficult specially when you are used to taking action. Enjoy the time together with your family. You go through it together and it strenghtens your bond. I feel the challenge of limits in communication over long distance, the lack of closeness to the person I love and the uncertainty about our timeline. There is always something that we have to let others do and trust that all will be good as we did our share. All is now in my wife's hand and I hope she can keep calm and do the right things and send things off on time. I wish you strenght. We both have at least things moving along which is great considering that we are the ones with the longest waiting times for our VO amongst the Aprilicants.

Patience is a virtue......

Cheers....and be optimistic......

I'll keep you guys posted.
