Can you send the link?

It's hard to imagine the VO denying a married couple with a child together. There must have been extenuating circumstances to cause the denial. For our case, there are no red flags...and we have been together for years...I have a job offer in Canada...financially sound...there shouldn't (won't) be any problems for us...

I have a related, but somewhat, different query regarding processing times in China. My wife and I are living in Qingdao but her Hukou is Guangzhou. I know all applications are filtered through Mississauga CIC, but what determines where the file will subsequently be sent by Miississauga for processing, will they go by her actual address (Qingdao, which means it would go to Beijing) or will they go by the Hukou asnd send it to Hong Kong? Not looking for guess-work or speculation, I'd like to hear from someone who's actually had experience with this kind of situation. Thanks very much.
If her hukou is from Guangzhou, she will need to go through the Hong Kong VO. For China applicants, the VO is determined by the hukou...so in this case, there is no question, Hong Kong will be where she is processed. However, if she somehow changed her hukou to her present address, then Beijing...but it sounds like her hukou is still tied to Guangzhou....

Hong Kong shows a 19 month processing time...but actually, for many, it's much faster than that...so don't be worried about a long wait, unless your case has red flags and is complicated...otherwise, I'd plan for 6-12 months...

Thanks for your reply, I'm tending to agree with the view you've expressed, however, I'd really like to hear from someone who's actually been in this siituation and how it was handled. For example, I know for a fact that Australia would give precedence to the actual address, rather than the hukou.
Regards.

There is no need to talk to someone who has been in this situation. The information I provided is accurate. If her hukou is still tied to Guangzhou, Hong Kong will be your visa office. Forget about other countries...this is how it works for Canada.

Like I said, though, if she changed her hukou to her present address, then Beijing will be your visa office.

Really, this is how it works...and there are not that many China applicants on this forum...but if you want a second opinion, try posting in the China applicants thread...maybe someone there has been in this situation.

Good luck.
