Hi Sasakaka,

I just confirmed that my HKPCC was sent on June 22th, but the request letter was issued by CIC on May 11th and it says I have 60 days to get it. Since your HKPCC took 3 weeks to arrive to Canada, it will be unlikely for me to meet the deadline. Do I just submit the letter of explanation that I have applied for HKPCC and it was sent and hope for the best? Thanks!

it doesn't matter
just upload letter of explanation and the application receipt within 60 days is fine

Hong Kong guys,

Did you use MPF and proof of funds ?
Can we use MPF as proof of funds ?
In my opinion, That's very risky. Go to the bank and get a balance letter is a lot easier.

What CIC wants to see is you have fund availablein your bank now. Although i know MPF can be withdrawn if you can demonstrate that you will permanently leave HK (means after PPR) but CIC may not know the rules. If they see it as restricted fund, your application can be returned.

Other HK seniors, please give your opinions.

Thanks for the reply.
I'm an expat and my MPF is easy to be withdrawn once I tell them that I'm leaving HK. My account is in KLN HSBC, do they give the bank letter in the required format ? Is it better to send bank letter with MPF statement to increase the chances of PoF acceptance ?

IMO, expat/MPF can be something not well known to CIC. It is your best interest not to make things complicated. I would say you should include MPF only if you don't have the required amount in the bank account.
I got my POF from HSB (which is pretty much same as HSBC). They didn't give the bank letter in the required format. What I did was I got their bank standard balance letter (which shows the CAD equivalent) and I submitted it with my statements from the last six months.
As long as you have the required amount, you're good to go. It won't increase your chance by having more money available.

But you can obtain the SG PCC original and upload it to CIC right? I read it somewhere before that CIC doesn't accept mail-in pcc from the applicants (but it's ok from the hk police directly)

Hi,
Thank you for this information. Are you FSW-O applicant?
On CIC website, CIO mentioned for PR applicants from outside US and Canada is CPC Vegreville.
This is so confusing..

Hi,
Can you share the address that was on your request letter?
Is it CPC Vegreville? Plus are you FSW-O?
Thanks.

Yes, we can upload to CIC directly. So it seems like they have different ways of submission from different countries.

Our mailing address to Canada are as follows:
Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC)
Centralized Intake Office (CIO)
49 Dorchester Street, Sydney
NS B1P 5Z2, Canada

In fact I am a little surprise there is another seperate address as I recall seeing this Dorchester Address a few years ago till now.

Hi everyone,

In conclusion, if you can obtain your PCC physically from the police department, then you simply upload it and CIC won't accept mailed PCC. The address I listed is only for HK PCC. (HK Police do things differently from the rest of the world. They will send it directly to CIC and you need to provide PCC request letter from CIC with an address. Applicants will never see their PCC)

For more info, please join the HKVO WhatsApp group. Just search the thread and leave a message there.

Thanks. Will Hong Kong police issue a letter to us acknowledging receipt of application. If yes, how long will it take. As per my understanding, that is what i will have to attach on myCIC account.
