Honest mistake of martial status, PR is in process

Hi,


Just a short brief about my case

I came to canada on study permit, then got the PGWP
I applied for PR under CEC class, got the Invitation , submitted the whole application
Its been 2 months now the biometrics & medical is passed

Eligibility is in process.

Now the problem , in this entire process study permit, work permit , and now PR I wrote my marital status as Single

I had a divorce before coming to Canada but I didn't know that we had to mention that as I thought I am single because after divorce you are considered single.

So I wrote in my study permit, work permit and now in PR application (which is in process) as single.


I'm thinking of submitting the webform and explaining this situation as hinest mistake

What are my chances of getting PR approval or will I get straight Rejection for misrepresentation? Or will be called for interview?


This is my honest mistake I didnt know about it

I'm so freaked out now about this whole situation


Any advice will be helpful

Submit a web form ASAP with a letter of explanation describing the situation how you didn't understand the different categories and why you considered yourself single. Be pro-active, don't wait for them to bring it up.

Thanks I am going to send by next week with the attached document
waiting for the translation of divorce copy

My worry is after I submit it what is my chance of getting the PR or I will get rejected ? Because of this honest mistake

There is no way to tell, it is up to the immigration officer but being pro-active about it shows that you realized you made a mistake and are trying to correct it rather than hide it.

Thank you yeah Agree it depends on the visa officer.. Im just crossing my fingers for positive outcome of it.

Is there any one who had gone through similar situation before and what was the outcome of it? Would like to hear from positive stories to motivate !
