Hi Friends,

Please suggest the best place to purchase budget & cost effective home furnishing for new landed immigrant in Toronto (around Mississauga & Brampton)

What could be the budget to be considered for basic furnishing for a 2BR.

Most advise not to bring from home country as it is available cheaper in Canada. Is that OK?

Your inputs are highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Brick, IKEA or I would check out the used furniture stores.

I would also check the internet such as craiglist and other media for second hand furniture.

Leon's, Walmart, Canadian Tire

Is it better/economical to bring basic cookware (Indian cooking vessels) and dinner sets (crockery)?

Please advise.

It's a personal choice. For me, I used to cook with a big wok and I can't find one in Canadian stores (such as Sears, Benix, Canadian Tire and others), so I brought one from China.
