@mr.preetsingh Yesterday a family arrived in Canada in HSWP (Gaining Experience Category). The validity date of the work and study permit is only until May 2024 (just 9 months) even though their passports are valid for over 36 months. Even the main applicant was not given sufficient time to complete the 1 year Canadian experience requirement. Is this by design or is there an error here? At POE the applicant tried to explain that they are eligible to get 3 year workpermit in HSWP. But it seems they can't deviate from what is there in the system and the applicant was advised to extend their work and study permit later. That means paying the work permits and study permits fees again.
Now my question is, in order to submit an application to extend the workpermit for main applicant and spouse, Does the employer have to obtain an offer of employment number through Employer Portal by submitting an Offer of Employment (LMIA Exempt)?
