Canada doesn't care if you get a Green Card, but you still need to meet your residency obligation of 730 days (two years) in any five-year period. Meanwhile, you can't be absent from the US for more than a year at a time, or you can lose your Green Card there
The RO for Canada does not require two years of continuous presence, just 730 days overall within the five years, so in theory you can keep both statuses, but it would involve a lot of moving around. And you can still lose your Green Card if you're perceived to be residing more in Canada than in the US, even if you're never gone from the US for more than a year at a time, unless you live in Canada near the border and commute daily into the US for work.
