Dear friends,
I am HIV Positive for 5 years. I am undetectable and my CD4 count is over 700. I am on Atrpila.
I am planning to apply for student visa in Quebec. But I have concerns about my ARVs.
Are ARVs free for international students? if not how much will be the cost per month?
I found this piece of information(you can find it in Italic font at the end of my message) in the internet but I am not sure this will apply to me or not?
I mean as an international student I should pay $87.16 per month to get my ARVs in Quebec? Am I right or not? I am so confused!

In Quebec, everyone must be covered by prescription drug insurance. If a patient does not have private insurance, application can be made to the public plan, Régie de l’assurance maladie du Québec (RAMQ) by phone or internet. If the patient has private insurance through their work, they are obliged to use this insurance. There is no costs for the following populations : - holders of a claim slip (eg. patient receiving social assistance) - persons age 65 or older receiving 94-100% of guaranteed income supplement - children under age 18 - adults 18-25, full time students in an educational institution recognized by the Ministère du Travail, de l’Emploi et de la Solidarité sociale, without a spouse, and living with their parents For persons age 65 or older receiving 1 to 93% of guaranteed income supplement, there is a deductible and co-payment charge of: $18.85 + (Total cost of prescription -18.85) x 34.5% to a maximum of $52.16/month (or $626/year). For everyone else in the public plan, there is a deductible and co-payment charge of: $18.85 + (Total cost of prescription -18.85) x 34.5% to a maximum of $87.16/month (or $1046/year). There is also a yearly premium collected by Revenue Quebec based on net family income when taxes are filed. The maximum monthly and annual contributions are revised on June 30th of every year. That same old “inconsistent stay” I asked someone the said my choice of course was not good as I am experienced in Finance but I applied for Human Resource course
I also got to know that there is no need to mention about HIV in SOP but I am concerned with the medication cost :
I am applying under SDS category
I paid my first year tuition fees
I am just skeptical whether or not should I add my family as my sponsor so that VISA officer will be satisfied that the medication will be sent by my family from my home country
Done with my medical in IOM Makati last week and I have some question po.
Is it IOM or IRCC po ba ang mag request ng additinal test/requirements incase there is discrepancy sa blood test result? - I'm concern about my syphilis test because prior to my medical I tested reactive (1:32 titer in RPR) and done with medication (doxycycline for 2 weeks). I also inform IOM about it and provide them medical certificate that I'm already done with the treatment from my hub and the prescription that I took. On the day of my medical they only inform about my urine test w/c is ok naman daw and additional test like hepa and sputum culture (8-9 weeks). Regarding my HIV case, I inform them that I'm reactive and under treatment, provide CD4 and VL. They only ask for a medical report from my doctor and submitted 3 days after. They did not inform about the blood test result if they need additional or confirmatory test. Please advise if anyone has the same situation. Thank you!

There's an option in the visa form about health were they asked, do you have any chronic disease? can I say yes or say No
