Hello, where you also hiv positive or you had only just tb?I'm from Nigeria. My case is very complex.
I got my medical request on Oct 10 2021. Because I've had tuberculosis before, I was recommended for a sputum test. That takes two months for a result to be available so I didn't get any news till November. I passed.
By January 2022, I did a follow up x-ray and all my results were sent back to IRCC. I thought I was done but a week later, they sent back a new prompt, asking me to visit a pulmonary specialist and get evaluated by them. They also said to submit a report. I did all of that and submitted it by Feb 18 2022.
My medicals changed from "we have requested a medical examination" to "medicals under review". I didn't hear anything till June 2022 when I was given a Procedural Fairness letter because my medication cost more than what public healthcare allows for a year. They gave me 60 days to make a healthcare plan and address the concerns. It was very complicated but I did it. I was thinking I wouldn't hear from them till April only to see my medicals passed yesterday. So yeah, it's an unusual case.
Hell maybe you should post on the forum as I don’t have information about this, am also applying for student visa and I did not disclose to my agent am worried alsoI am in the process of applying for a study permit to come to Canada from Iran. As medical exams are not required for students applying for a visa from Iran, I have a concern related to my HIV status and the availability of Antiretroviral drugs (ARVs) upon my arrival.
If I choose not to disclose my HIV status during the application process(emphasizing that students from Iran are not required to undergo a medical exam), could this decision affect my ability to access ARVs in Canada? My primary worry is the possibility of being denied access to necessary medication upon my arrival.
I appreciate your assistance in advance.
Thank you.
Hello please are you from Nigeria and where you ask to show how to pay for medication out of pocket? And did you use agent?Yes, my study visa got approved last month. I suggest still request for CD4 and Viral Load since IRCC might ask you to submit those docs. Others here became undetected after few weeks of taking arv. Just submit all the requirements they ask and you're good. Keep fighting!
