Depends on what province you live in. Are you working full-time and will your employer give you a letter indicating your will be employed for at least 6 months?
I’m in the British Columbia area and only just got in days ago. I am job hunting and havnt found one yet.

Dear friends, I am HIV positive, for student visa for Canada I don't need to pass the medical exam. If I come to Canada on student visa, will I have access to ARV's for free?
As I googled I found out in BC and Alberta students will have the same health insurance as citizens.is this true?
what about Ontario? In Ontario citizens have OHIP(Ontario Health Insurance Plan) but students have UHIP(University Health Insurance Plan).Does UHIP cover ARV's for free?
if don't , can anybody tell me in which provinces students will have access ARV's for free?
if ARV's are not free how much does it cost per month?
I am on Atripla.
Thanks in advance for your helps.

Who said that you don't need a medical for student visa???
Every person going through immigration in Canada whether student, visitor or worker had to go through medical exam until and unless the stay is less than 6 months.
I think you need to research more about your medication cost equivalency as per Canadian market as it is one of the ground for refusal.

There are countries which they don't need medical test for their residences when applying for student visa for Canada. Google it!

You were asking about Canada, isn't it?? And I was telling about Canada and this forum is about Canada immigration. And moreover why would residence need a student visa for its own country???? And moreover this a public forum people answer it as per their experience, if you want to be rude no need to ask and expect an answer. Sorry for responding to your question.

first of all I wasn't rude. I only share my experience .I meant that there are countries which don't need medical test(residence of that country, not Canada of course!) when applying for student visa.

Not sure about all the provinces

British Columbia : International Students pay $75 per month for Fair PharmaCare for prescription drugs. you have to do research on Pharmacare coverage for ARV's as most other medicines have 20% co-pay deductible

Ontario : No UHIP does not cover any Prescription Drugs.

Nova Scotia : its free ($40 a year for dispensing fee) but only for MSI Card holders which International Students can apply for 12 months of staying in NS

You will have to declare that you have a medical condition so that will likely lead to a medical.

Universities in Ontario are required to enrol international students in UHIP. An extended health benefit plan is also usually provided/required. That usually has full or partial for things like dental care vision care (eye exams and glasses/contact lens), prescription drug coverage, physiotherapy, etc. Other option or if you max out the prescription allowance is sending a 3 month supply of medication via courier to Canada.

Hi everyone, I currently live in Canada on a open work permit and I work as project manager in a shipping company in Ontario . My employer provides good health care insurance. I Will stsr my application for PR this week but I am scared. I am HIV positive since 2010 and I am undetectable since I started my medication in 2011 . My prescription is BIKTARVY and I have been reading about the excessive demand , however, I can't find information regarding the cost of my hiv treatment in Canada, since I landed in Canada, I have been bringing my own prescription from Mexico. Anyone could advise on how to proceed? Thank you
