Hello, I graduated with a CGPA of 4.38/7 in mass media(advertising). Got admission into a university in BC for post bacc diploma in marketing, and done with the admission.
However, I have poor academics and explained everything in the sop, put projects, certificate courses, co-curricular activities, and work experience.
I am also hiv positive since 2019, now undetectable and cd4 1497. I am done with my upfront medical where I told the panel physician about my status, submitted hcv, hbv, gamma interferon, syphilis and vdrl cd4 reports, upfront with the hospital form. I am also going to put it in my sop, show proof of funds and explain how I am going to take care of my medications.
I haven't lodged the visa yet, I wanted feedback on my sop and wanted to know my chances of getting study visa.

You can only bring 3 months of prescription medication with you to Canada.

FYI - we see refusals here due to poor academic all of the time. Sure, some people are still approved with poor academics. But to say it doesn't matter isn't really accurate. Otherwise we wouldn't see this called out in people's GCMS notes.

Grades are not even required for some country. And if you are saying people are solely refused you will be wrong. If you read the laws for study permit grades are not even required. IRCC visa officer is stepping out of his jurisdiction refusing for past academics. Is the college job to accept if you are saying that they accept anyone might be true but still visa officer can’t reject for low grades. If you have any evidence from law or IRCC website where it says you can reject for low grades I will happily admit it they can refuse for it. In the gcms they mention because they want to justify their refusal with the refusal they want clarification for low grade but they never refuse for it.

You do have to submit previous transcripts. We see lots of people being refused because of bad grades. Many schools view international students purely as ,only and admit almost everyone. IRCC wants people to succeed in the courses because many still end up on academic probation so they do look to see previous grades.

I am saying by LAW by law they can’t reject based on previous academic. A study manual is given to ircc visa officer to see what they can’t or can reject on low grades are not one of them. Like I said I am not going by judgement I am going by law if you can proof it I will happily say them can reject it on that. Judging and law are different things. That’s why there is judicial review because these visa officer reject on things where they can’t reject it on.

Poor grades is part of previous education so yes you can be denied for that reason.

And by law is not required but these guys still ask for it mostly to see when they completed their education. My cousin is a USA citizen he got his visa on port of entry within 20 minutes without any transcript why do you think they don’t need it?. At the end of the day it’s college now you can judge they can take anyone and blah blah. But visa officer are not admission giver nor they can reject on low grades. I won’t be responding as I explained everything. You can think whatever you like now.

You keep stating that with no proof. By law they can’t reject it what do you not understand? No previous education or grades can reject for a study permit. Show me proof by law or IRCC website instead of saying things by your judgment

I am going to submit my transcripts, and highlight the subjects I excelled in my bachelor's that are related to my pbdm. About medical, everything is transparent, I have submitted reports for additional tests upfront before they asked me, I just hope they accept those. I still want someone to review my SOP and tell me if it is convincing enough
