HIV + and looking for express entry

Hi everyone, I just got recently diagnosed and will be starting on medication soon. I am currently 31 years old and I have an MBA with 6 years of work experience. Also I know A2 level of French and I am brushing it up everyday. So my question is which province should I apply for where competition is less ? Also I had a historical Syphilis infection which got treatment in 2020 and my RPR is non reactive. Will this impact my chances? I plan to give IELTS and TCF Canada

You will be required to get treatment for your HIV and usually have proof that you are undetectable. It makes sense to seek out treatment and then apply to immigrate versus having your application put on hold. What express entry program you should apply to depends on more information like what field of work you are in and whether your work history was in your field of study. What is your IELTS score also is important to know. Where you want to live when you come to Canada and whether you have a job offer is also important to know.

Being HIV+ shouldn’t lead to refusal based on excessive use of the healthcare system but if you have additional health issue and if you are on certain medications that can lead to refusal. If it is a medication cost issue some flagged switched medications in order to qualify to immigrate. Canada doesn’t have a national pharmacare system so access to health insurance through your employer that covers medications will be necessary in some provinces while other provinces provide some level of medication coverage and some have specific HIV programs to provide medications if you don’t have access to medication coverage via other sources.

I work in business strategy and operations , NOC 1122 and I planned to move to Quebec or British Columbia whichever is easier to enter and currently I don't have any medical conditions. I got recently tested for all STIs, liver function, kidney functions and came to know about my status. Need to check up on TB though as I have not tested the same.
