I am about to receive an ITA. But im in a dilemma if i should do post ITA process by myself or get a immigration lawyer. The lawyer is asking for $2000 excluding fees for PR to take the matter in his hands. I know its simple forward process but i haven't done this before so i am afraid to take the chance also im not in position to pay him 2000 for just that. Im in Canada as an international student and fulfille all the requirements . If someone is in same boat please join . LETS NOT PAY UNNECESSARY FEES TO THE LAWYERS AND HELP EACH OTHER HERE AND SAVE MONEY.

Unless you have complicated background which may have legal implications, there's no need for a lawyer or consultant.
It's a simple and straight forward process. Everything you need to know is on CIC website and probably asked/answered in this forum.

My situation is very straightforward no complicated background. Done my studies and work experience in Canada. Even the IELTS

If you have extra 2000 dollars give it to me.

Do it yourself man. None of the immigration authorities recommends it

Yeah lawyers are charging extra here in Toronto. He was asking $500 just to create my express entry profile. Took me just 10 minutes to do it by myself.

The one thing you must do is read the Express Entry Thread in this forum. Try to understand it which should be no issue. Then just follow the steps. Like the others said unless your situation is complicated it's recommended you diy because most of it requires you to gather and attain. Find out the format and structure to prepare the Reference letter for your skills (ie. employment) and follow that closely. That way you will be able to meet the requirements expected. Get your pics taken at Costco (later in the process when you get your PR approved) as they know exactly what is needed.

This forum is your best guide but you will need to look at the threads or google them to lead to the threads and you should find your answers there. Many experienced forumers are also willing to help. The whole process needs a lot of PATIENCE. Somethings are hard to explain why it is so but slowly it will all come together. Also don't wait, create your profile ASAP and start gathering all the necessary documents, letters etc.

Good luck
