Hi Nour,

Here is a post by Leon that will give you a good overview of how the process is gonna be http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/spousal-sponsorship-t46995.0.html

Kindly read this post for Syrian Nationals married to Canadians

You can sponsor your spouse even if you don't have a job but you have to explain in your app how you guys are gonna make it when you 2 are already together in Canada. maybe you can tell them you're gonna live with a relative or something like that.

Are you a citizen or PR? You must be a citizen to sponsor your husband while you are outside Canada.

As mentioned, you will need to show how you will financially support your husband when you move to Canada. If your parents (or his parents) will help, have them write letters.

Also, I would strongly encourage you to live together for some time. If it is impossible, as you have said, you'll need to cite the laws which do not allowed him to live in Qatar and you to live in Dubai. It would also be very good to include good proofs of your trips together.

Right now, for him to get a job, he would need to find an employer willing to hire a foreign worker and who also has (or will get) permission from the government to hire a foreign worker.

There is no guarantee he'll be admitted into Canada (even if he finds an employer) until he gets his PR visa. He can try for a Visitor's visa as well, but if he is living outside of his home country, it will be hard to get approved for the visa. He has to show strong ties to Syria to be approved. Living in Dubai is a weak tie. However, visitor's visa is a separate issue that you can address in the Visitors forum if you so wish.

You can check times for PR here: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/information/times/perm/fc-spouses.asp#africa These are not guaranteed times. These are the times 80% of complete applications are processed. Unless he's legally admitted to Dubai for at least 1 year, he will have to apply to the Lebanon office.

When I applied in January, the cost was $1040 for the immigration fees, plus the cost of the medical exam and other paperwork. I cost me about $1800 CAD all together.

Oh thank you so much

well I'm a citizen and I really want to be with him as soon as I can!

Thanks again :)
