Good day. I've seen applicants who had no news from IRCC (no AOR1) who were able to call them and ask about the app status. Which number did you call (outland)?

When I call, the automatic options ask for file number but we don't have any. I have a UCI though (PA). Could anyone tell me how to get to talk to someone without an app # ?

Hi there.
+16139444000 is the number to call outland. Maybe that's the number that you already knew. I Use Skype to call them.

I called and got a nice lady but she said she could not transfer me to a IRCC agent because it's not working for ouside of Canada.

How can you have a UCI number if you haven't received your AOR1? That doesn't make sense.

If the applicant had an existing engagement with immigration. For example, my husband was on a work permit before we applied. His OWP UCI is different than his spousal one. His old UCI has nothing to do with our spousal app. Is that the same as your case cookie?

Yes kcward7 is right. I have a UCI because I have been a student there in 2009

Yes, you cannot do anything until you have a UCI and it will be a new one. Both Sponsor and Applicant will get one, different ones for each. You won't be able to call and chat with anyone until you get one.

The reason I'm asking is because I saw someone on facebk who was able to get information without AOR1... She had waited for 1,5 month without any response so she called and was told about a note on her file stating that her app is being returned. I asked her but I can't seem to get any answer.
Well I guess I'm just going to wait June 1st applicant.

Yeah so AOR comes after they've looked over your app and are keeping it right - so she was probably put into the system at some level where they discovered her package was incomplete and were returning it, which may be why they could find her. Don't stress if you haven't heard yet. AOR has been taking a while lately. I think it's possibly a combination of a bazillion applications coupled with understaffed due to summer holidays

I don't think Your UCI never ever changes. If you had one it stays the same. I had a TRV and have the same UCI now for my spousal application, same for the sponsor. We didn't get an AOR for more than a month, when we called CIC they were able to find our application using my UCI.

How could you get to speak to someone? My hubby(living in Qc) tried to call 1 888-242-2100 but he couldn't get to talk to anyone (the options only asked him for app number).

When you get asked for the application number pls # directly. It goes through. You can also call them from outside Canada +1 (613) 944-4000
