Hi... I applied to U.S Universities and got admit for masters in Missouri S&T.. And my Visa was rejected.. and my interest in studying in USA too died...
Now i am planning to apply for CANADIAN Universities...(My own sister is in toronto, its an advantage)
I am planning to do Masters in Electrical Enginnering with specialization Power Engineering...
1. The First Doubt i have is... There are two options, MASC and M.Eng in Canada and whats the Equivalent degree to M.S (in USA)...
2. Please suggest me some universities list good for power and when is the earliest intake i can opt...

MY Profile is
Bachelors in ECE - 72%(No Backlogs)
GRE - 304/340
TOEFL - 95
2+ Work Exp as Electrical Engineer in an Hospital

1. MASC is research based MS, you need to secure supervisor before you apply for this degree. Securing supervisor is difficult but once you secure one then the chances of getting funds are high.

2. MEng is course based / project based MS. Admission to this program is easy but there are absolutely no funding.

3. Best universities are uToronto, uBC, McGill, uAlberta.

Thank you very much for your reply man.... Coz i am helpless right now...
I am planning to take up a career as Professor (In India in future, as job involves less hard work ;)) and to do that i need M.S and P.H.D... So which is the best option for me.. MASC or M.Eng.... I selected M.S(Non Thesis for U.S) so i think M.Eng in Canada is the correct choice....
And one more doubt is, what the course duration for M.Eng... I know its 2 years for MASC....

Thanks in advance

1. For Ph.D you will need to have research in you master's. So you have to do MSc in order to do Ph.D.
2. If you do MEng then you will have to do some research before you start your Ph.D.
3. M.Eng and MSc are exactly the same degrees except one is research based and other is not. Both are 2 years long.

P.S. Your GRE score is good but your TOEFL is not that sound. TOEFL is easier than GRE and yet ...

1. MSc research won't be that difficult. But if you like M.Eng then you should go for it.
2. GRE is not required in Canada however, uToronto website mentions that it is recommended but not required.
