It's true George, most of genuine students who are going for studies will get their Visa rejected.
90% of students who go abroad for studies will settle there, and VO's will give Visa for them.
10% of students do not wish to settle there and will return to their home country and VO's will reject majority of these students.
Thats what happened to me for U.S Visa...
Two of my sisters applied for U.S Visa and they are so mean and so money minded and everybody know that they will not return and will settle there. on the other hand take me, i usually never brag about me, but i am very generous and i used to help all poor children around my neighbourhood for their education and other basic needs. I only want to study there and work for 1 to 2 years, and then return to india. I do not wish to settle elsewhere except India. And U.S Visa Officer rejected me twice as potential immigrant and gave visa for two of my sisters. (We all had same academic qualification.)
And the most funny part is, the Visa Officer's tell that they are so experienced and can analyse a student in a short time.... Great
Potential immigrant because it looks like your whole family is trying to move there, nothing else. I'm afraid its just bad luck, nothing else. Had your sister gone after you, the same situation would have presented itself. You cant really blame him for the refusal, now can you? After all, hes just following guidelines left out to him.
