here is my question
i am a sri lankan and going to apply fsw application in colombo,,,i lived in England for some time like 6years,,and i left there 3 years ago,,,here is my problem that i cannot get a police clearence from the uk police....coz they are asking some one in uk to sign photos for me,,i dont have any body there to sign my photos and i dont have address proof as well.and my passport also has been lost..i could get new one but it indicates previous passport number.

if i don't mention in my application about 6years that i lived in the uk what happens?
could they find about it?

I lived in the UK for 10years and recently I obtained my police clearance certificate without any problem. No where in the form are you required to have someone in the UK sign your photos. I had my signed from outside the UK and there was no problem.

You don't need to have proof of address so long as you know your last residential address in the UK.

Finally, I provided my new passport number 'cause this shall be indicated on your certificate.

Its strange.. U dont have any copy of u r old Passport and have u not noted your passport number anywhere?? There shud not be any probs in getting UK police check at all...

Having said this, u should tell the CIC about your UK stay...
You will be cheating , if you u omit UK part...
Dont ever think of doing this!!!

Yeah, I know this rule from the UK Police Association is absurd. They demand you have someone professional (lawyer, dentist) you know to write a statement in ENGLISH for you and sign. Well, if you are in a country where english is not the language (almost all of them) nobody will be willing to sign a paper they dont know for sure what it is.

You will have to find a way. DO NOT LIE saying you never lived there. You will have to find a way to get someone you know that is professional to sign your picture and the statement. Call the UK POLICE ASSOCIATION and explain the situation, they may be able to be more lenient with you in your situation. But again, this requirement is absurd and not secure at all.

it's not a problem a school teacher cans sign the picture and it can be any where in the world, you just cent back to ARCO and get your police certificate, I got one in Feb,09 I lived in UK for six years and left in 08, they didn't asked me for UK proof of address but they ask current address proof any bill or etc and I just applied again for PCC for immigration.

yes they only ask u current proof of address no matter which country. I got the same by providing proof of address of my current home in pak

the thing is i went there with student visa and i didn't go to college for 3years. i have all 3 years gap with 7 years study permit.

i had visa and i traveled couple of time to Asia middle east as well..
all i did is didn't go to college for 3 years ,,,,i don't have any certificate or admission papers to show them,,,,

In your first post you mentioned that you lived in UK for six years, I will be able to advise you only if you tell me what visa you were on for the whole time.
If you did not go to college in the last three years what were you doing there, were you working?

I am not sure but you violated your British Student visa requirements, but i don't think will be a problem but i remember you have to write your visa status in these countries and they may ask but not sure someone else
