Hello I am a 58 year old Canadian Citizen and I would like to help my girlfriend from China come and visit me and my family in Canada.

We met online in December 2011 through a dating site. After speaking for 5 years online through QQ, WhatsApp and Skype we met in China last July 2017 and became officially together. I visited and met her family in Shenyang, and we also travel together to Shanghai, Beijing and Qihuandao. She is 50 years old and is already retired.

We are looking to find the best way for her to visit Canada. I think it should be through a vsitors visa, as a tourist: The biggest opstical is that she doesn’t make tons of money but she has her own apartment in China. But nowhere does it say how much money she needs in her account or the minimum she needs to be making to get her visa approved. Also I know I can create a letter inviting her hear to visit me and my family, would this help or make it more difficult? Basically she will stay at my home so she will not spend money in hotels.

It looks also that one of the requested documents is an itinerary. But as I said, she will stay with me at home. We probably made some weekend travels but we do not have an specific itinerary. How we could manage that requirement? Our itineray is very simple! There is any template for an itineary?

I am hoping she can stay for 3 to 6 months. She will stay at my home and I could cover most of his expenses. She will also bring a medical insurance.

Is there any chance for her coming her for a visit?. We are a little bit worry about it

Any help will be appreciated, thank you.

Has she visited countries in the past that require visas such as the US and UK? A 3 to 6 month trip is extremely long and will likely raise CIC's concerns she has plans on remaining long term. Unless she has an extensive travel history to countries requiring visas, I would very strongly recommend she keep her first trip to 3 weeks or less. She'll want to demonstrate that she has ties to her home country in the application (e.g. property ownership) and show that she has at least some funds. Ideally I would recommend she show at least $5K in available funds if she can - more would be better.
