HELP!

Hello, I am not really sure where to post this, and not sure if anyone will be able to help me, but hopefully.

I have my work permit and everything, I went to get an Alberta drivers licence today, and because I am Australian, I was told I was able to swap my Australian to Alberta essentially. I was denied today because my NSW driver licence doesnt have a "date of issue" on it at all, I was told to contact the RTA (In Australia) to get them to personally send the information to the Alberta Registry. I was wondering if anyone had gone through this before? What number to call or where to start?

Also, with my 2 year IEC permit, I was told I am able to drive for 3 months, can anyone verify this please?

what they want to know i understand my friend went through same situation...but country was USA california...basically they want to know the date of issue of ur driving licence...and validitity...etc..or some kind of letter from australian licencening authority to.make sure ur licence is valid and when is issued and when is expiring...etc...insurance companies in canada need that information. ..etc..plus authenticity issue...to confirm...with autralian driving ministry etc...

my friend flew to california to get letter and submit to driving department and they issue him ontario driving licence.

That's crazy! In BC, they can see a California driving record (driver's abstract) on their computer screen.

You should be able to get some authority in Australia to mail, fax or email you a copy of your drivers license first issue date so no need to fly back for that

If you can prove that you have a license but not when you got it, AB will give you a GDL license which is almost as good as a full one, although zero blood alcohol level is allowed and you would lose it at half the demerit points.
