Help!!

Hi all!

Need your help..Few questions which have been really bothering me for a while and i dont seem to find answers for that..

So, here is my situation:
1) My work permit expires in Jan 2013 and there is no way my employer will support me for the LMO second time. (i know i can buy few months by applying for LMO myself inspite knowing the result)..
2) Im getting married to my bf who is a Canadian citizen in Dec this year.
3) I completed two years with my company in June 2012 and so I have applied for PR under CEC in July. I got the file no last week.

So, my questions are:
1) Is there a way that i can continue working in a scenario when i don't get my PR and my work permit expires in Jan next year?
2) With buffalo office closed, what is the second stage in my CEC application after AOR? Will they send a request for medicals straight away and how long does it take?Also, how long does it take after medicals to get the PR card or new work permit?

I know i can be here on a visitor visa till the time i dont get my PR once my work permit expires but the problem is that i dont want to quit my job or stay home doing nothing.

My lawyer told me that yes, there is a way that i can continue working even if i dont get my PR till my work permit expires through the way of marriage..but she didnt get into details..anyone has an idea what she is talking about?

Hi N1983.
the fastest way to be able to get working permit is applying for PNP, but still need company's help.
getting married is the one of the option, but you can not work right away.
if you want to secure your job, you should talk to your company and apply for PNP.

Has your employer said 'No' or are you assuming they will? Ask and if they refuse, begin looking for another employer willing to apply for a LMO.
