Help Work permit question

So my open work permit expired and I applied for the re-extend of the work permit (admittedly late but still within the 90days). It took forever for any reply, now however I have received my application back saying I made a mistake in the payments (paid towards the wrong application). Now I am well over the 90 days and can make the correct payment. But am I still legal to stay here in Canada if I send the application back for re-processing? My immigration consultant says I need to go back ASAP within the next week and reapply for a whole new work permit but I'm wondering if it's necessary.

Any answers or advice is appreciated.

I have applied for a work permit under the SINP program.
My occupation is bricklayer and as such I applied.
but I have a concern. Sad
My company does not pay my social security (somehow work in black)

1 - could this thing hinder my application?


2-it verifies immigration insurance payment?

Please send feedback more because I am very worried
