My husband is a US citizen and applied Outland. This morning he recieved an email titled IRCC Permanent Resident Confirmation Portal. It states he has 7 days to confirm he is in Canada, his address and to submit a picture, and maybe a few other things.
We have plans to travel to the US to visit friends, leaving Friday morning. Can we still do that?
So, your husband applied while he was in Canada, correct? Is this why he is being asked to confirm that he is in Canada now? I admit that I'm not that familiar with the online portal.
If he is in Canada, he should confirm that he is and provide the photo and whatever the `few other things' might be. After confirming this, I don't see why he cannot travel to the U.S. and then return. Since he holds a valid U.S. passport, the real `need' for a PR Card to return to Canada is pretty much nil. All other PRs need a PRC to return via a commercial carrier, but any PR can re-enter at a land PoE without a valid PRC, BUT...may be asked, at length, why they do not have one. All CBSA needs is something showing that the PR still holds PR
status in Canada.
As always, wait for others to reply...just in case.
