Hi,

I am trying to fill in the police clearance forms I got from their website but there is so little space on the form to actually write anything, specially address, it doesn't fit in the space provided.

Did anyone here apply from BLS?

Also, for addresses stayed in India, how far back should I go? I am thinking of providing last 10 years is that ok?

Doesn't matter if you try to fit in your address by writing above or below the lines. It should be fine.

I gave my permanent home address in India, although I stayed at different temporary places.

Provide only your permanent address in India while applying for Indian PCC through embassy or consulate in your current country of residence.

-You can write above or below the line too.
-You just need to provide your permanent address in India.

I had applied for India PCC on February 19th 2016 at BLS in Vancouver. Its almost 3 months now, I still haven't received it.

The processing time on BLS website states 4-6 weeks. I had called BLS call center in the 6th week to follow up. I was advised I should speak to the CGI Vancouver directly. CGI Vancouver never answered my calls, not even when I called on the emergency line. However I received a response to an e-mail I sent to the consular services, which advised that the file has been sent to RPO (Regional Passport Office) in Mumbai, India.

I haven't followed up after that.

I arranged to get a local police clearance from Mumbai and submitted it.

Did you mean if your PCC is not ready at the time of submission?

Yes you can provide a Letter of Explanation (state here that you have applied for PCC and due to processing times you don't have it ready yet) and copy of the receipt that you have applied for PCC.

Upload the Letter of Explanation and copy of receipt as one attachment in the section for Police Clearance Certificates while submitting your application.

Once you receive your PCC, you can upload it via Case Specific Enquiry (CSE) on cic.gc.ca

I have a different address in on my passport than my present address. So I mentioned my current address and the address on the passport.
