Hope someone can help me understand this, i dont know what to do.
I am currently in Canada, under an extended stay tourist visa.
I am planing to send my PR application for common law this month, the application is to Paris, which says aprox 8 months plus the 47 days of the step1.
My passport expires on June 2015. Which means its just on the month that i might get the permanent residency or it might expire before that.
I saw on CIC page it says:
A permanent resident visa is issued for a period not exceeding the earliest expiry date of the following documents:
the medical results for you and your family members or
your or your family members’ passport.
What do I do? Anyone has been in this situation???? Can i send the PR application with this passport?
Does anyone know what option i have? As far as i understand since im in Canada as a visitor im not allowed to renew my passport here, if it expires and i need to travel i can ask only for a temporary passport ...if i go to my home country seems i cant renew it if it still has more than 6 months on it.
Im really hoping this is not an issue but im freaking out..can someone please help me??? Thanks!
