I hope I can explain this properly

I currently live in Canada with my wife who is a Canadian citizen.

I need a TRV (entry visa) as fast as possible as I need to travel
to outside of Canada very soon

My visitor permit will expire March 31st 2017

I want to apply for a TRV online as it is faster than a paper application

Whenever I go through the online eligibility and answer all the questions,
it leads me to extend my visitor permit application

With a TRV form under the heading "Optional"

My main aim is to fill out the TRV application and get it. I can extend my
visitor permit a few days later

How do I override the option that the online eligibility questionnaire is
giving me...so that I can just apply for a TRV (entry visa)

Any help would be much appreciated

:)

I don't get it, usually the tool gives you the option to apply for one or the other... there is no such thing as "optional".

You will have to clarify this. Maybe take a screenshot of the "optional" screen.

Answer the questionnaire as if you are currently outside of Canada.

Yeh , I think the problem is the visitor permit that is expiring in 2 months. Thats whats making the system to prompt me extending it

I can answer the questionnaire as if im out of Canada, but will that hurt me in the future? I dont want to be accused of lying or anything by Immigration Canada.

Plus...I will be sending the application to a Canadian office, so it wont make sense that im from out of the country

I don't think it's a problem as the questions only generate the requirement checklist.

Since you're a visitor, you can't apply for a TRV inland anyway, which is reserved for those with work or study permits. So outland TRV application is your only available resort.

Attach a LOE explaining your situation, or why you answered the questionnaire as such, if you have to.

You can upload them anywhere, and provide the link.

Hi everyone

So I contacted CIC

And they said the only people who can apply for TRV (re-entry visa) from within Canada are people on study permits and work permits

People on visitor permits cannot apply for a TRV from within Canada

Please help me to understand the doc requirement for TRV application online from India.
I would like to apply for my spouse & kid. I shall be attending University in summer, got my student visa.
Q1. Do I need to furnish the fund in CAD $ equivalent?
Q2. Is air ticket mandatory to show, because I prefer to buy tkts post visa approval?
Q3. Can I apply in my log-in (read GC a/c) or my wife needs to open a new GC a/c for herself & apply from there, for her as well as for our child?
Q3. How much to show minimum as a fund for 2 dependents ( spouse & kid)?
Q4. On visitor visa, my child should be able to get enrollment in school, even without having student permit for himself,is my understanding correct?
Please help me with your expert feedback/replies.... Regards.
