Hi everyone

This is a great forum and I have found the advice on here fantastic so far. I am Canadian living common law in England. We have been living together for 7 years now so I hope we have enough evidence to prove we are genuine.

I have a question regarding the Application to Sponsor form Section C.6. b and c. It says that if I am sponsoring a spouse or partner in Canada class, do not complete b and c. Well we are applying outside of Canada so I assumed I need to answer. But the questions are so unclear to me.
b. if the above address is not in the country of nationality of the person being sponsored, has that person been lawfully admitted for a period of at least 1 year. Yes or no. Well the address is in the country of his nationality so do I ignore it or answer yes? Sorry I am confused because either way we look at it doesn't appear completely to be right. I am probably being very picky but it sounds like you have to be and I don't want anything to go wrong.

We cannot wait to get this posted! We have put so much time and effort into this that we will be celebrating just getting it posted and the ball rolling!

Good luck to everyone in their applications!
Jen

In our application, any questions like that, that didn't apply to us, we just put N/A.

If you are sponsoring him as your common-law then I think it's Family Class not Canada class. He has been lawfully in his country for more than 1yr if he is from here...the UK...I'm assuming he was born here, not originally from another country?
Where abouts are you? (I'm in Worthing-nr Brighton) If you are filing via London there is an 'outland London' thread on here too..
It's hard work working out these forms, I spent weeks doing then, then checking them, then checking them again!! It'll be worth it in the end though! Keep smiling!

Thanks for the replies.

Yes, Canooknic, it is hard work. We are almost ready to submit the forms. I have the package ready and am at the checking stage. Each time I check it I find a slight error so it is driving me a bit mad at the moment. I refuse to post it until I can get through checking the whole package and find absolutely no mistakes. I do find the wording on some of the questions confusing. My partner and his son have their medicals tomorrow so then we just have to pay the fees. I have also spent weeks getting this together and will be thrilled to get it off my kitchen table! :D I hope it is a straight forward case as we have lived together in England for 7 years!

We are just outside Reading, Berkshire. Have you sent your forms off yet?

Thanks again for your replies...and good luck!

Jen

We sent ours off last month. We've had my sponsorship approval so now we have to wait for London (!?!?). When you send yours I would recommend a courier or royal mail 'airsure' NOT 'international signed for' which it only gets tracked until it leaves the UK! I spent ages waiting for something to show up on Ecas, it was awful!
I've been planning this move since my boys were born in July 2008 so I've already been through getting their citizenship, then their Canadian passports and now (finally!) my fella's PR application. We're planning to go next May...I'm counting down the days!!!
Hope everything goes smoothly for you and the CIC elves work super-fast for you x

Don't answer b or c. The question is "If the address is not in the country of nationality ..." The address where the applicant lives is in the country of his nationality, right? So questions b and c don't apply to you.
