hi all

i need some help and suggestions /advice

i had applied last may 2015 for the express entry PR Application and i got a message on march 1st, 2017 saying i have an invitation to apply ..

however it's tricky now.. i'm starting a new job in april 2017, and i'm unsure if i will submit the application within the next 20 odd days in march
in all likelihood , i will submit the required documents by april, when i would've begun my new job .. as we need an experience reference letter for all the jobs we've been at , i don't think i can ask the new employer for the experience certificate ..

what do i do and what's the best way of going about this ?

thanks

Hi satishk1511,

You have received an ITA based on the information you have kept in your profile on the date of invitation.

You do not need to obtain a reference letter from your new job if you are not claiming points for it. Post ITA, you can mention your new job under Personal History instead of Work History section for which you don't need any documents. You need reference letter and other supporting documents only for the work experience you keep in Work History. Hope this helps, good luck with your application :)

Hi Lotus_01! Thanks!

I just realized that i have given my NOC Code as 4163 for my job, although now i feel it should be 2161

I am a marketing analytics professional - my job primarily involves analyzing shopper transaction data (Point of Sale data) from retailers and applying statistical techniques like regression, propensity models, cluster analysis etc to analyze customer behavior better. Part of my role also involves coding in R, SAS, Python etc to address relevant business problems. Basically a data science professional

What do i do now?. Should i decline the ITA?. and go back and update in my EE profile ?

Or is there another workaround?

Problem is i start a new job in April, so, i dont think i can get an experience letter from the new employer so soon :(

Please let me know what to do. I know i cant go back to the application and Change NOC code based on which i got the invite

I appreciate your help!

You can change your NOC in the post ITA forms if you think your job duties match 2161. Your reference letter should clearly be matching NOC 2161 at least more than say 60-70%. Be sure to check if you meet the educational requirements of the chosen NOC too. Use a letter of explanation (LOE) to explain this change from your EE profile in the "Optional Documents" upload section along with other explanations, if any. I assume you got direct ITA and not a provincial nominee (PNP).

If you submit you application after your new job, mention your new work experience in Personal History section of post ITA forms and not in Work History. Good luck :)
