Help with applying for work permit?

Hi guys,

I want to know everything I can about work permits. How to apply? Who can apply? LMO's etc.

Are there any experts on here that would be willing to meet over a coffee and give me an hour tutorial on the ins and outs of work permits? I am willing to pay for your time. Experts only please.

I would suggest that you either do your own research at www.cic.gc.ca or go consult with a reputable immigration lawyer

I would hire a lawyer but they charge too much and doubt they would let on too much as this is their livelihood.

If you want to apply for a work permit, then your first step is to find an employer who is willing to give you a full time offer. Once you have that, your employer will have to apply for the LMO. This is something your employer must do - not you. Good luck.

So how can lawyers charge $3000 to get me a work permit? All they are really doing is filling out the paperwork? The job offer is for me to find. The LMO is for the employer. What does the lawyer actually do?
