Hi everyone!

This is my first post here, I'm so excited to communicate with the people that has helped me and my wife get these forms almost completed! :D

I'm a PR and I want to sponsor my wife as a spouse in the family section and we're almost ready to send the application (OUTLAND) but there are a few questions I want to ask before doing so:

When my wife and I got married, I Changed my foreign ID a couple months later ( I was living with my wife in Dom. Rep. At the moment) to include my marital status. When my wife tried to change it later on, they only gave her a request and ticket number to wait until the presidential elections were finished in order to change it for her.

The elections were done a couple months ago and when she requested the Police Certificate, the name on it was the married name. My wife then changed her ID to match the PC, but the Passport and the Birth Certifcate have the maiden name.

Is it necessary to change her PP to match the new married name on the PC and her ID or I can include an explanation that the PC and ID were issued recently and that's why it shows the married name, in order to cut time and change the married name on the PP whenever my wife's here?

and the other question is, on some forms and additional papers my wife has to include her name on the top with her birthdate, does it have to be her maiden/passport or married name?

I hope I made myself clear!! :D

Hopefully after this we can submit our application and patiantly wait for us to be together again !! :)

It doesn't matter whether your wife uses her married or maiden name in the application as long as her name on your marriage certificate matches her birth certificate name.

It might be a different scenario but I use my maiden name to sponsor my husband (applicant) and I passed the sponsorship approval stage. I guess CIC doesn't really mind if you would still like to use your maiden name.

This is incorrect. The applicant's name in the application MUST be the same as the name in the passport.

Well, basically the thing is that her passport is not expired and it shows her maiden name, but her national ID and police certificate show the married name, does she have to change the passport to match the police certificate and the national ID or we can include and explanation of why the different names and not change the passport?

No, she doesn't have to change her passport. A simple explanation and the marriage certificate showing both names is fine.
