Hello;

I am the sponsoring my husband from US to come to Canada. He lives in the Chicago and I am a bit confused as to where out application is going to be processed. I havent yet sent in my application. I know I have to send it in to CPC-missisauga but is that where my application is going to be processed the receptionist asked if my application is going to be processed in or out of canada. I told her I believe it is in canada (since i am sending my application to mississauga). So she said not to worry about filling out the Appendix c and did not give me the copy 2 IMM 1017 as a proof. But as part of the document checklist, it says to attach both appendix c and copy 2 IMM 1017, which is why it makes me wonder where my application is going to be processed.

I would really appreciate anyones help in this matter.

thanks

neeru

If you are submitting the application as "outland" and he is legally admitted or a citizen of the United States, the processing office should be Buffalo, NY.

Inland (or in Canada processing) would be for permanent resident applicants who choose to live in Canada while their application is being processed. For an Inland application you would be sending it to Vegreville. As an American PR applicant, there really is no reason to do an inland application as they take longer and there are issues if you want to leave and reenter Canada.

For clarification, yes, you send your application to Missisauga initially but this is just a temporary pasing-through phase that only checks the sponsor's eligibility. After this is done, Missisauga will send the application on to Buffalo, NY for PR processing. So, as kess said, the actual processing takes place outside of Canada.

You should include all forms that are indicated on the checklist for your husband's country.

Your application is going to Mississauga, so it is an outland application - it will be processed outside of Canada. At Mississauga they approve the sponsor and then send the application to the visa office in the country that is processing the applicant's visa.
So you do need the missing forms.
