Hi!
Here are the points...
-My wife and I submitted our request for sponsorship in march and paid the $550 when we did so.
-we were given a UCI number
-The file was sent to Peru then transferred to Ottawa (as we live in the States right now).
-Today she only received a mail asking for me (her sponsor) to make an RPRF payment and the mail had a different UCI number

What is going on? Did they make a whole new file when it transferred from Peru to Ottawa, hence the new UCI?
Isn't the $550 the payment required or do we need to pay this RPRF as well and if so, how much is it and where to?

We really could use some help understanding this so thanks in advance!!!

:)

Hi,

I'm relatively new here, so I hope I have my information correct:

I believe that you are each assigned a UCI number and that the RPRF is a separate fee (Right of Permanent Residence Fee).

Maybe, this is an indication that you're application is nearing completion??

Best of luck.

Permanent Residence Fees are split into two:
- Application Fee
- Right to Permanent Residence Fee (RPRF)

While the first one is a must - when you apply, the second can be paid at the later stage of the application process. One does have the option to pay both fees upfront. Should any application be rejected, CIC refunds the RPRF portion of fees (if paid). Application fee is non-refundable.

Hello

Both the sponsor and the sponsored person (applicant) receive a UCI
They are requesting you pay the $490
You can pay it online and then email the receipt to cpcm-extcom@cic.gc.ca

You are almost finished if they are requesting the RPRF :)

What is posted above is correct. I would only like to add that when you look up Ecas the term UCI is used to identify the sponsor and that the number used to identify the applicant is referred to as the application number. For months I had been wondering why my details were given when the UCI number was used with my sponsor's name and date of birth whilst no information was given when I used my own name as applicant and my date of birth. Miraculously all was revealed once I keyed in my application number (the number starting with an F).
