Hello Everyone -
I've been living in the US for 3 years now and was convicted with negligent driving 2 years ago. I did not have any jail time, just a fine and community service, both of which are completed. The conviction did not involve any property damage, physical harm to any person, or did not involve any type of weapon. This is my only conviction and do not even have a speeding ticket or any other fines on my record. The judge also stated that the case will be dismissed(it won't be expunged) at the end of 2 years if the record stays clean.
I'm looking to apply for a visitor visa and based on the cic.gc.ca conviction page, I don't fit in either categories of Deemed rehabilitation or Individual rehabilitation because its only been 2 years since my conviction.
Am I reading this correct and is there really no chance of my getting a visa before my conviction has passed 5 years?
I would really like your advice on how I can obtain a visitor visa in my situation.
Thank you.
