HELP! Visa expiry date is for a day that has already passed

Hi everyone,

My boyfriend has just received a letter from CIC stating that he has been granted a temporary worker visa. The letter was sent to him on June 30, 2016, yet it says that he must seek entry into Canada by May 23, 2016.

A worker visa was pasted into his passport, and again the date of issue and the expiry date are both May 23, 2016.

Doesn't this mean that he has already passed the date of expiry and will not be able to enter Canada? Has this happened to anyone else? The rest of the visa pasted into his passport states that it's a W-1 worker visa and he is allowed multiple entries.

Hi

He will not be able to come to Canada with those documents. It does occasionally happen that CIC sends expired documents by mistake. He needs to contact CIC to return the documents and his passport and have correctly dated replacements sent.

Thank you very much for your helpful reply. He rushed to the Canadian Embassy in his country this afternoon and they immediately corrected both his passport and the letter
