Hi,
I applied for a post graduate work permit online 2 weeks ago but processing times are 77 days so I won't make it before my student visa expires. I am also worried because I forgot to upload a pic of my current student visa and I can't add it to my online application. Now I was thinking of going to the border to get my PGWP. Does anyone have experience with that? I know I can work on implied status but I am afraid they will deny it because I forgot one document. Please help its urgent. Thank you.

PGWPs are not issued at the border - so it's not an option.

Do you mean the visa on your passport or the study permit? If study permit then I don't think you have to upload it on the online application

I am sailing in the same boat, in fact at a risk of losing my job because of processing times. Hence I am uncertain on what has to be done. But do not worry, our status is called as, Transition status, Study permit to PGWP. Hence we are even eligible to work even if the study permit expires, but the employers do not understand. It is even clearly mentioned on the website. This is definitely gonna make people lose their jobs. But cant help it. :(

Dear Friends,

Call CIC on 1-800-622-6232 or 1-800-926-9105 they are 9 am to 5 Pm

They will ask for a UIC that is the Unique Client ID number mentioned on the Study permit.

They will tell if the document missing is a concern. Normally the officer sends an email asking you to provide additional information.
Even if you study permit expires you will not be deported till a decision on your PGWP application is made. You will be in Implied Status till that time.
