Hi Everyone,

I have some doubts in filling the Express entry form.

I have done 10th, 12th, diploma and then engineering from india.

In the express entry profile what i should select for level of education for 10th and 12th ?

Also in ECA report my diploma canadian equivalency is given as Secondary school diploma and diploma (two years). So what should be the level of education. Also what i should select for the canadian equvalent level of education after the ECA certificate number for diploma and bachelor's degree.

As you pursued a diploma and an engineering degree, 10th and 12th will not be considered.
You can go for "Two or more certificates, diplomas, or degrees. One must be for a program of three or more years". Reason being you have a Bachelor degree which is more than 3 years and also a diploma.

Incorrect.

OP doesn't have a postgraduate diploma. In their case, they should select Bachelors equivalence.

Im not sure still.. Its getting more confusing..

I have filled the Diploma and Engineering in two rows in education in express entry profile.

In the help button for level of education says "" To get the correct number of points, make sure you choose the answer that best reflects your case. For example:
If you have TWO Bachelor degrees, or one bachelor AND a two year college diploma, choose" Two or more certificates, diplomas, or degrees. One must be for a program of three or more years.
If you did not earn a Canadian degree, diploma or certificate, you may need to have your foreign education assessed by an agency approved by Citizenship and Immigration Canada. They must show that it is valid, and equal to a completed Canadian credential.""

By this help shown in red, i have diploma and engineering degree, in which engineering is more than 3 year. So i think i am eligible for two or more diploma or degree option.

Could you please tell me what they mean by post graduation?

If i have two or more degree or diploma will wes report will state like that? In mine they have given bachelors in the summary

As per WES report, it says your diploma is equivalent to "Secondary school diploma and diploma" which is post-undergraduate diploma.
But as per CIC website, http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/eca-conversion.asp, post-undergraduate diploma is accepted only if your credentials are assessed by few organizations:

"Note that this equivalency assessment outcome applies to reports issued by either the “International Credential Evaluation Service (ICES), British Columbia Institute of Technology” or the “International Qualifications Assessment Service (IQAS), Government of Alberta.” These designated organizations indicate outcomes in English only."

Since your credential evaluation is done by WES, you cannot use it. In that case, your only option is "Bachelor’s degree or other programs (three or more years) at a university, college, trade or technical school, or other institute".

Friends... correct me if i am wrong.

2 or more certificates hold true for non Canadian degree/diploma's only when both of them are evaluated properly by external agencies i.e your ECA report should indicate that your Diploma is equivalent to post secondary certificate and your degree is equivalent to Bachelors.

However, based on your statement, it seems you used your diploma to enter laterally into Engineering program effectively using it to get partial credits for Engineering--in this case you did a three year engineering course instead of usual four years. Thus by, your two or more degree/certificate doesn't come into play here. You should go with your highest degree which happens to be your Bachelors.

Hi Vivek,

Assuming you are a not married...

As you could see "secondary school diploma and diploma" is mentioned under category "Two-year degree, diploma or certificate from a program at a university, college, trade or technical school, or other institute", it gives you 98 points.

If you apply for "Bachelor's degree OR a three or more year program at a university, college, trade or technical school, or other institute", you get 120 points.

Since they are two different categories, you need to choose the highest level of education. Here it is Bachelor's. Go for it. Don't get confused.

Hi Sunichak,

I am married and my spouse and kid is also accompanying me. I have 415 pts as of now and waiting for my wife's ECA report and once i receive that i will be at 423 as she will get 8 points for her degree.

In this case if i show i will get only 112 pts and as i have CLBC 9 in Ielts, the skill transferability for CLBC 9 and with two or more degree is not awarded. So im loosing 7+25 = 32 points.

Another query, If i do ECA from the above stated organizations, is there any chance for me to get more points?

You are not eligible for two degrees. You must select Bachelors as your level of education.
Based on which you calculate your points under with spouse section.
