I had recently applied to study permit but got rejected with following reasons: Your purposed studies are not reasonable in light of one or more of; your qualification, previous studies, gap in studies

I have done Masters in Business Studies, 65% in the year 2007. Got 7.5 on my IELTS. I am working in commercial bank after my masters till date. For last three years have been working in HR Dept of a Bank. Hence, I applied in HRM Grad Certificate 1 year program of Seneca College.

My logic was it is one year program so I won’t be away for longer period from my profession and this will help in further my carrier & knowledge.

Now I am contemplating to reapply. For this purpose the professor of the program has sent me a recommendation letter basically saying that “This HRM program is designed for students with completed degree who wants to pursue further studies and promote their HR careers further” This letter was sent on my request.

I had chosen this course after detail correspondence with the college and they even had mentioned that they have mature student who already have completed their masters degree – student with similar profile like mine.

What should I do? Should I reapply for the same program? Any help and suggestion from you guys would be much appreciated!

You have bright chances to get visa ..

Have you add SOP With your First attempt?

Did you ask for CRIP notes ? As it will help you to get accurate reason for rejection.

Here's how I look at it... Why get a certificate course after getting a Masters in Business. The program itself is not really related to banking or finance? Try choosing something related to banking and finance and reapply.

i am applying with IELTS:6 overall with two 5.5's and course related to banking that is business management -IT specialization which has subjects related to accounts ,business and finance.

I have 3 yrs exp in banking
tenth:75%
intermediate:64.5%,
B-tech:67%,
Between i have one year gap that i filled with a short course of diploma in banking in operations.
Now, I am applying visa on monday.

A detail explanation of your rejection is called CRIPS NOTES

BTW why don't you apply for FSW as you having good working experience.

Get your file ready by next months & put up fast track application in january

You got admission with an IELTS score of 6? That's surprising! Usually they require at least 7 with no scores lower that 6.5. Anyway, English test scores are not required for visa application. You only need it for admission to a school in Canada. So if you got admission, then al you have to prove is that you have the financial capacity, of good health, not a threat to Canadian national security and that yourr program and background marry. Good luck!!

you are already a graduate and you are again applying for a graduate diploma. As a visa specialist told me, there are high chances of getting a visa rejected if you are opting for a downward projection in studies and one must apply for an upward projected degree (though in your case its not downward nor upward either). Good Luck!

Thanks for your reply and important thing is i have unconditional letter of acceptance. :)
