My husband finished his graduate studies last December and has applied for his 3-year open work permit. I am now a part-time student in Western University. Can I apply for a work permit after my husband obtains his OWP? Do I have to wait until he finds a job?

1. He has to find a job first.
2. Then he has to get a job description from the employer that shows that he is working in a NOC A, B or O job. If he is, in a skilled position, then you can apply for an open work permit. You need to include a copy of his job description from the employer and copy of his work permit, plus proof of your marriage.

Yes, you can as long as you have a valid TRV to enter (or if you are in one of the Visa-Exempt Citizen wherein TRV is not required).

TWP is a work authorization
while
TRV is for you to enter Canada

hope that helps
