Hello, friends!
After seeing so many threads I still think my case is a strange one. I am supposed to apply under SDS and my application is refused for the second time. And the refusal letter it is written:
• I am not satisfied that you will leave Canada at the end of your stay, as stipulated in subsection 216(1) of the IRPR, based on the purpose of your visit.
• Your proposed studies are not reasonable in light of: your qualifications, previous studies, missing mark sheets, academic record, level of establishment, language abilities, financial ability, and/or your future prospects and plans.
Course: 4-yr Business & Accounting program at DLI university.
IELTS: Listening 7.5 Reading 7.5 Speaking 7.0 Writing 7.0
Financial: 1st year tuition receipt. $10000CAD GIC fund.
Transcripts: Average 3.3. No dishonesty record.
Police Certificate: Provided
Medical Exam & Bio-metrics: Yes
Previous Studies: This might be where the problem is. I did two years of college in USA and tried to transfer to Canada. And for that I provided a study plan as an explanation. I also provided mark sheets for all my years in college and also high school diploma. As far as academic record goes I don't have any violation or "F".
If you're wondering how my first attempt was refused, I requested CAIPS note which writes that "I'm not satisfied with client's explanation in info letter regarding gaps in studies. I'm not satisfied that the course of study is reasonable given the high cost of international study in Canada when weighed against the potential career/employment benefits."
This is why this time I address the "GAP" in my studies, which was a summer break slightly longer than 3 months. I provided evidence (official letter) that I was interning at a company. Other than that my academic history is pretty much seamless. And for potential career benefits I included the research I did on accounting market in my home country & a letter of recommendation from the president of a large, reputable company. My study plan also makes it clear that this program is a natural progression because I am transferring to another 4-yr college. It's not like I already have a degree and trying to get a same level degree in Canada.
It even sounds ridiculous to mention but neither my family nor I have any affiliation with any sensitive political group or party, and none of us is related to any high-profile persons. I'm just an ordinary student as far as I'm concerned.
Is it normal for an SDS applicant to meet such obstacles?
Needlessly to say, I'm frustrated by the refusal as anyone would be. But honestly, I'm okay being refused as long as they've shown a valid reason. I'll request CAIPS notes another time but it's probably just going to be some other BS.
So what's going on here? What could possibly go wrong? Anyone have any insight? What's the next step I can take? My class starts in January I'll most likely miss that. While I try to extend my acceptance, what can I do?
Thanks.
